2014 Sailing Schedule

RCMSC’s 2013 sailing schedule is behind us (but look for an announcement soon of a weather-permitting winter sailing schedule) and we will be putting together a 2014 schedule soon. Almost all of our sailing in 2013 was at Tualatin Commons, as Westmoreland Casting Pond was dry or in the midst of noisy construction most of the time. We’ll watch that venue to see if it can return to our rotation. We’ll be checking out some other possibilities as well – if you know of any with potential please let me know. We’ve been sailing at 1:30 PM every other Sunday. The thought occurred to me that some folks might prefer Saturdays to Sundays. I’m taking an informal poll: Sundays or Saturdays? Respond by e-mail to townsendpdx@me.com with your druthers. I’ll report results. Thanks.

Sailing 11/24

Our last scheduled sail is this Sunday, 11/24, 1:30 PM at Tualatin Commons. Please join us – weather looks to be great. We may have more sailing dates beyond that as weather (and enthusiasm) permits – I’ll keep you informed.

Sailing 11/10

We plan to sail at Tualatin Commons Sunday 11/10, 1:30 PM. We’ll watch the weather forecast but for now there’s some promise.

Sunday Sail

Join us at Tualatin Commons this Sunday (10/13) at 1:30 PM for some sailing. The weather forecast looks good.

Sailing Sunday

We are planning to sail at Tualatin Commons, Sunday 9/29 at 1:30 PM. As of this morning, the weather forecast doesn’t look so good, but we’ll watch it.

Please join us at Tualatin Commons on Sunday 9/15, 1:30 PM, for some fun sailing!

9/1 Sailing

Join us Sunday, 9/1, 1:30 PM at Tualatin Commons for a fun afternoon of sailing. I’m told that there is construction on Boones Ferry Rd coming from Bridgeport Center, so you might consider an alternate route.

Sailing 8/4 – Westmoreland

Just a reminder that we will be sailing at Westmoreland Casting Pond, 1:30 PM this Sunday, August 4. We’ll be alternatively racing both Micro Magics and T37s. We also plan to discuss racing rules beforehand. At rcmsc.org, click on the “Links” tab, scroll down and click on “An Introduction to the Racing Rules: Duke City Model Yacht Club”. Pay particular attention to the “Right of Way” and “Overlap and Clear Ahead” sections and prepare for a fruitful discussion. See you there.
