Vintage Model Sailboat converted to RC
Sailboat for Sale
This vintage sailboat predates the modern radio control era and has been converted to RC. The hull is wood planked, similar to full sized sailboats built before fiberglass. The hull has been fiberglass sheathed to give total water tight integrity and abrasion resistance.
The boat is 50.25″ long and weighs 14 pounds. It draws about 13″ of water and can be sailed in most any pond.The mast is about 68″ tall and easily removable for transport and storage. The boat is rigged to be a capable racing machine, a sort of wolf in sheep’s clothing. It does very well in the light flucky winds of Portland. Sailing conditions are perect for this boat at Westmoreland pond or Tualatin.
Comes with servos for rudder and sail winch. RC transmitter, Reciever and battery not included.

Large RC Sailboat

This is a semiscale model of the famous SC50 sailboat designed by Bill Lee in the 70’s. His designs are credited with starting the ultralight revolution which forever changed how large performance sailboats were designed and built. He coined the phrase “Fast is Fun”
The model is 54″ long and weighs about 13.5 pounds and draws 19″. It has been completely rebuilt with new servos, carbon spars, and sails. With its tall rig, it does particularly well in the light fluky winds of Portland. Overall height of the model is about 100″ and the rig easily separates from the hull for easy transport. I have been able to easily transport it in my compact car.
Rudder and sail control (2 Channels) are used on this model. RC transmitter, receiver and battery not included.
