September 19 Tualitin Cup Regatta

RCMSC sailors,

The September 19 “Tualitin Cup” hosted by Tualitin’s Commercial Community Involvement Organization (CCIO, chaired by Cathy Holland) is now live on their website, and posted to our schedule.  Attached is the flyer, and a schedule of events from 1pm to 4pm, really designed to attract to the local community.  They plan to have food carts there, the kiddie water fountain going, and a roped off area for our sailors.  This is a chance for us to advertise and invite RCMSC (and AMYA) membership, and I am simply hoping as many of you as possible will bring your boats of all types to show off, and sail.  WE NEED SAILORS FOR THIS EVENT!

While the schedule looks too tight as shown to run separate class races, my suggestion is that as a club we start racing earlier, like noon or 12:30, so that we GET GOOD PARKING, and get some class races going while the crowd assembles.  At 2pm, perhaps then we shift to fun combined class races with timed starts, big boats first.

We’re open to ideas , and would love feedback… I’ll be at tomorrow’s Series races if you have questions or ideas.

Many thanks,

P.
