We received a post via our FB page (thanks Ron Martin!) indicating that the City of Tualatin is drawing down the pond at The Commons. We’ve tried to determine how this might (or might not) affect our sailing plans tomorrow (10/4/15). Hard to do on a Saturday afternoon! Bottom line (no pun intended), there may or may not be enough water. Unfortunately, reports are that Westmoreland is being drained and may be no better alternative. I plan to show up (with my DF short keel 😉 and hope for the best. Worst case scenario, I’ll have a beer with some of my skipper friends (but I hope to sail). I trust you will make your own judgements.
Race Results 9/6/15
The results from our 9/6/15 Micro Magic races have been posted to our Race Results page. Congratulations are in order to Stan McKay for his first place finish! Congratulations (of a sort) also go out to Stanley Townsend for picking up the third and final $20 Tammies Hobbies Gift Certificate, generously donated by Steve Vess. Stanley came in second but received the award as Stan McKay decided that, since he had already received the award for the Dragon Force 65 class, one award per skipper was enough.
It was a fun day on the pond. The rain ended shortly before we started and held off throughout. Winds were flukey (so what’s new?) but we had some. Pretty good turnout considering the holiday weekend. Thanks to all involved!
8/23/15 Race Results
The race results from 8/23/15 have been posted. Pretty good turn out, with 5 T37s and 8 DF65s on the water for a fluky, smoky wind day. The few MMs present did not race. I added some notes about two tie breakers. Also, about DF65 race 3 in which 5 boats crossed the line together to close to call.
Congratulations to Tren H. and Stan M. for picking up the Tammies gift certificates generously donated by Steve V.! The MM prize award awaits another day.

RCMSC Annual Meeting March 15, 2015
Skippers, our Annual Meeting has been scheduled for Sunday March 15, 2015 following our regularly scheduled sail. Â We will be meeting at the Lakeside Bistro compliments of our new club member Ron Overmyer and Ron’s wife Betsy Nelson the Proprietor. Â The Bistro will supply assorted hors’doeu’vres and a “pay as you drink” beer and wine bar. Â We should brake from sailing shortly after 3:00pm and wander over to the Bistro around 3:30.
We have a large agenda with several important issues to cover including the announcement of the Tualatin Commons Cup Regatta scheduled for June 20 and cosponsored by our host and new member Ron Overmyer and the election of our 2015 Club Officers. Participation is encouraged under threat of being rammed the next time you show up at the pond.  Sinking is a possibility. LOL

Well, the forecast is for afternoon showers starting around 2PM – 50% chance. For now, I plan to make my bet that we can get some sailing in and show up at Tualatin Commons. I’ll probably be there around noon. Each to his own decision.
