Just a reminder that we will be sailing at Westmoreland Casting Pond, 1:30 PM this Sunday, August 4. We’ll be alternatively racing both Micro Magics and T37s. We also plan to discuss racing rules beforehand. At rcmsc.org, click on the “Links” tab, scroll down and click on “An Introduction to the Racing Rules: Duke City Model Yacht Club”. Pay particular attention to the “Right of Way” and “Overlap and Clear Ahead” sections and prepare for a fruitful discussion. See you there.

Westmoreland Casting Pond seems to be consistently wet these days, so we have decided to revise the remainder of our 2013 sailing schedule to resume alternation between there and Tualatin Commons. NOTE that this Sunday’s outing (7/21) is still going to be at Tualatin. The revised schedule is posted on rcmsc.org and will be reflected in my future mailings. Here’s a message from Ted:

“Ladys and Gentlemen,

Just thought I would bring you all up to date on a few thing Susan and I have been working.  99% of all the work has been done by Susan 1% by me.  Our web site is nearly completed – just a few small odd and ends remain.  Our sailing schedule has been amended and will be discussed at this Sundays sail along with several items pertaining to our racing philosophy, racing rules, sail numbers etc..  Sailing schedule is not set in concrete so let’s talk.”

We’re sailing at Tualatin Commons this Sunday, July 21, 1:30 PM. Come join us.

Happy Independence Day to all!

We will be sailing at Tualatin Commons on Sunday (7/7), 1:30 PM. What’s scheduled is T37 Race Day and Micro Magic Fun Sail, but I imagine we’ll all race together. Though I usually forget to mention it, of course Footy skippers are welcome. Actually all classes are welcome to come sail with us.

We have a Micro Magic Race Day and T37 Fun Sail this Sunday (6/23), 1:30 PM at Tualatin Commons. Will probably turn into both classes sailing together.

RSVP appreciated. I’m going to miss this one due to a calendar conflict, but I’ll pass on RSVP info to Ted.

We have a T37 Race Day and Micro Magic Fun Sail scheduled for Sunday, 6/9, 1:30 PM at Tualatin Commons. We can stick to the described schedule or all classes race together (seems to be working well enough) – I’m open.

We have a Micro Magic Race Day and T37 Fun Sail scheduled for Sunday 5/26, 1:30 PM, Tualatin Commons. Good news about the forecast is a 68° high. That comes with a 40% chance of showers, so we’ll have to make the call closer to the date. 

Seems to me that T37’s and MM’s sail well side by side on the same course, with T37’s having the advantage in stronger winds and MM’s perhaps in lighter.

OK — The forecast for Sunday 5/12 is now 80% chance of rain. Add to that, I’ve had exactly one semi-positive RSVP (with two “Noes”). Mother’s win. I’m canceling.

The weatherman is predicting an end to our bout of glorious weather with cooler temperatures and a chance of showers. Yesterday they said 60% – today down to 40%. We’ll probably have to make the call Sunday AM.

This Sunday, 4/28 at 1:30 PM we will have a T37 Race Day and a Micro Magic Fun Sail at Tualatin Commons. No chance of the weather messing this one up, so come one, come all.
